The Perfect Candidate

The Perfect Candidate description tells Ezra what you're really looking for in a hire — beyond what the job description says. Ezra uses this profile when evaluating candidates after their interviews.

Talk to Ezra

The easiest way to define your ideal candidate is to have a voice conversation with Ezra.

  1. Click Connect to start a voice conversation
  2. Ezra will ask you questions to guide you through describing your ideal candidate — their background, skills, experience, and any other qualities that matter
  3. When the conversation ends, Ezra will summarize its understanding under Perfect Candidate for [your role]
  4. Review the summary and edit it as needed — add nuance, correct anything, or add criteria that weren't mentioned

Invite hiring managers

Click + Invite to add hiring managers or other stakeholders to the conversation. They'll receive a link to talk to Ezra separately. Ezra will incorporate their input into the ideal candidate profile.

This is a great way to make sure Ezra reflects the hiring manager's perspective, not just the recruiter's.

Generate a question from the profile

After the ideal candidate description is saved, click Generate question to get a suggested interview question that explicitly tests for criteria in the profile.

For example, if your ideal candidate profile emphasizes early-stage startup experience, Ezra might suggest: "Can you tell me about a time you had to build something from scratch with limited resources?"

You can add this question to your interview question set.

Updating the profile

You can return to this step at any time to update the ideal candidate description. Remember: changes only affect future candidate evaluations.
